'Setting off to Hunt, Madikwe'

Madikwe is a relatively new wildlife area reclaimed from farmland, it is fenced and wildlife numbers are managed occasionally to avoid imbalances. The wild dogs that have been introduced to the park seemed to be doing very well with packs becoming large enough to split into smaller groups. This large pack that we saw a couple of times attempting to hunt had a good sized litter of pups, unfortunately we only saw the pups from a great distance!
