The racehorse string is pictured near The Severals walking and trotting ring, one rider is activating the warning lights to cross Fordham Road towards Rayes Lane. As Newmarket is the headquarters of British horseracing much of the town is designed around the racehorse, the fenced horse walkways and warning lights at horse-crossings are common elements in the Newmarket street scene and are evocative of the area for Katy.
