This view is from the Bury Road, Newmarket looking across the bottom of the gallops and up to Warren Hill. The atmospheric effects of the horses silhoutted against the dawn sunlight and the mist from their breath attracted Katy to paint this scene. This watercolour is one of six of Katy's paintings that were published as a set of cards sold in aid of the Injured Jockeys Fund, these cards are no longer available, but for other interesting equestrian art merchandise check out the IJF site.
