Equestrian Paintings
Katy lived for some years near Newmarket, Suffolk the headquarters of horse racing in Britain. Whilst there she was inspired to paint by the fascinating views around the race course and the gallops. Though she now lives in Essex she frequently visits Newmarket to paint scenes around the gallops areas. | |
Since 1997 Katy has had work selected for each of the Society of Equestrian Artists annual national exhibitions in London and has been awarded full membership of the society. In 2003 she won the 'PQ International' prize for the best polo exhibit in the Society of Equestrian Artists annual show, in 2004 the 'Horse & Hound' prize for the best racing exhibit and in 2005 the Graham North prize for the best Hunting exhibit. Many of her paintings have been published in the racing annual 'Travelling the Turf'. |
