Gallops and Stable Yard Scenes
Katy initially became interested in equine art whilst she was living near Newmarket, the headquarters of British horse racing. Newmarket sometimes seems to have more racehorses than people, with hundreds of horses exercising on the gallops each morning.
Although she now lives in Essex, Katy frequently visits Newmarket to photograph and sketch the gallops areas. The scenic views there at first light are a favourite painting subject.
Katy has also painted many views of other racing centers including Lambourn and Middleham.
Gallops and stable yard scenes are shown on this page. Horse racing scenes are shown on separate page.
